Tools For School Volunteer Opportunity

There is a local non profit group called Tools for School (www.toolsforschool.org) that is making a difference. The group was started by South Jersey teenagers with a mission of raising funds to purchase school supplies that are then delivered into the hands of kids just before school commences.  Arts & Crafts has been supporting Tools for School for the past few years, focusing on giving back to the local Spring Arts and greater Philadelphia community.  Many of these backpacks are in fact being delivered to local public schools such as The Kearney School located at 6th and Fairmount.

This Wednesday, August 26th, Tools for School, will be holding their annual backpacking event.  Volunteers from Arts & Crafts and several folks from local businesses will be packing school supplies into 1,500 backpacks and then handing them off to local schools and other not for profits that will distribute these backpacks directly to the children.

We are scheduling one hour time slots with not more than 15 people at a time, practicing social distancing and wearing masks, and doing this in the outdoor parking lot of 444 N 3rd Street.
